When I began my college search as a high school student, I knew I was looking for more than just a school. I was looking for friends and a community, support and wisdom, art and music, and all the quirks! In a nutshell, I was looking for a place that felt like home, and Alfred University was and still is all of these. During my five years of undergrad at AU I was trained not only as an artist and an art historian, but I also developed as a creative individual in all aspects of my life. I learned to think, question, and challange myself, to seek out opportunities and to live as a member of a small but incredibly dynamic community. Now, as part of the Admissions team, I cannot wait to share this experience with future Alfredians!

Hi there! My name is Emily, and I am an Admissions Counselor here at Alfred University. I also graduated from Alfred with my BFA and my BS! I am an artist, a musician, and an animal lover.

I was born and raised in Central New York, but I have lived in Western New York for six years now, and love the beautiful hills, forests, and historic places that surround the Alfred community.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking up waterfalls, hanging out with my family and pets, and trying new restaurants. During the summer, you can always find me at one of the local ice cream stands getting my favorite- black raspberry or chocolate peanutbutter swirl on a cone :)
